Known for her light-hearted approach to teaching, Jolie creates a welcoming environment for all who attend her classes. She thrives on finding ways to integrate challenging postures and sequences in a safe and accessible way, providing multi-level options in every class.
By combining her extensive yoga knowledge with a deep background in fitness, Jolie is equally adept at working with all-around athletes as she is working with beginner and longtime yoga students. As an accomplished marathoner and recreational cyclist, Jolie recognized that the more consistent her practice was, the less frequent her injuries became. Thus, her long-running Yoga for Athletes and Runners (P)REHAB programs were born.
Jolie began practicing yoga in the1990s before finding her first yoga hOMe with Mimi Loureiro at O2 in 2000. A dedicated practitioner, she eventually became a certified yoga teacher in the Ashtanga lineage, completing her training with David Swenson and Shelley Washington. Jolie continues to expand her knowledge base by attending a variety of classes, workshops and trainings on a regular basis. Not only does this enrich her personal practice, but also informs her teaching. She credits learning from some of the world’s foremost yoga teachers like Beryl Bender Birch, Eddie Stern, Tim Miller and Manju Jois, as well as Jason Crandell and Tiffany Cruikshank, as her deep well of inspiration. Jolie continues to find this practice to be a humbling, challenging and dynamic gift and loves to share it with her class participants.
